In the last month, we've been working to add some of your most-requested features to EasyRoutes, including pickup stops, scheduled delivery notifications, and API access for more of our users. Here's a recap of a few new EasyRoutes features we think you'll love.
EasyRoutes now supports two new types of stops, allowing users to classify any stop on a route as a pickup or task, in addition to the default delivery stop type. Whether delivering goods to a central customer pickup point, restocking mid-route from a secondary warehouse, or performing a service call between deliveries, these new stop types unlock additional flexibility for route planners and delivery drivers alike.
Stop types will be set as Delivery by default, and can be individually modified from the Edit Stop page, or using a new bulk action from any Route page. Pickup and Task stop types can also be applied automatically using order automation rules when an order contains a particular order tag, customer tag, delivery method, or order attribute.
Stops marked as a pickup or task will be clearly labeled in the mobile app, and display with a unique icon in any route's list of stops within EasyRoutes:
New settings are now available to customize your email & SMS notifications, order tracking pages, and fulfillment workflows to fine-tune your customers' experience depending on the nature of their order.
For full details on working with pickup and task stop types, see the support article for this new feature.
βπ Scheduled & Rescheduled Order Notifications
We've enabled two new notification options, available for delivery, pickup, and task stop types: Scheduled and Rescheduled. Β Like all existing notification types, users can enable and edit templates for scheduled and rescheduled notifications from their EasyRoutes Settings > Notifications tab:
Both new notification types can be configured for Shopify orders as well as custom and imported stops from the Settings page shown above. Β Each of these notification types can also be independently enabled and modified for email and/or SMS notifications from the same settings page.
When scheduled notifications are enabled and a route contains a scheduled start time, users can trigger the scheduled notification from the notifications menu found immediately below the map when viewing any route:
If any notifications (other than Ready for delivery) have already been sent for a route, scheduled notifications will be unavailable; users will instead have the option of sending the rescheduled notification to indicate updated order ETAs:
π Orders Page Improvements
We've introduced a new way to format your Orders page, particularly useful for merchants who make frequent use of Address Book saved stops, CSV imported stops, and/or stops generated via API calls. When enabled, all Shopify-native orders are accessible from the Orders tab:
Saved stops, imported stops, and API-generated stops will be combined within the Stops tab. Hover over the icon on the far left of any stop's entry to quickly identify the source for each listed entry:
Enable the new unified stops table and configure which tabs will be shown on your Orders page from your EasyRoutes Settings > General tab, within the Saved and imported stops section:
π± EasyRoutes Delivery Driver v1.0.52
The EasyRoutes Delivery Driver mobile app for both iOS and Android devices has been updated to version 1.0.52. This release features support for new pickup and task stop types, several user interface improvements to enhance accessibility for core app functions, as well as minor bug fixes.
Drivers will need to update to the latest version of the mobile app (minimum version 1.0.52) in order to take advantage of the latest features and improvements, including new pickup and task stop types.
Other product updates (π there's some good stuff in here!)
Stops imported from a CSV file can now include a Delivery date variable.
Order items with an 'On Hold' status can now be added to any applicable stop in a route from the Edit order items panel after route creation.
The Update order data route action can now be performed on entire route groups at once.
Order variables generated via automation rules (such as time windows or delivery dates) are now accessible within the Orders page, and can be used to filter the orders table.
Routes created with an auto-assigned driver can now also be automatically dispatched to that driver from the Route Scheduling route option panel:
π§βπ» EasyRoutes API: Public Beta
After launching in early access this summer, we're excited to announce that the EasyRoutes API has moved into the public beta phase. If you're interested in trying it out, head to your EasyRoutes Settings > API Settings tab and click the Contact us button to begin the process of enabling API access for your store.
