EasyRoutes Product Updates - March 2024 πŸ“¦

Since our last monthly update, we've been working away on new features and improved functionality for EasyRoutes to help streamline your deliveries on Shopify this Spring. Here's some of the highlights from March.

Your all-in-one local delivery app for Shopify

What's new?

‍

πŸ“‹ Local Delivery Instructions Now Available

Merchants utilizing the Delivery Instructions field to collect additional information for Local Delivery orders on checkout can now access these instructions from within EasyRoutes. When present, Delivery Instructions will display along with any order notes and can be viewed by hovering over the note icon for any order on the Route page. Β

Delivery Instructions will also display in the Delivery Driver mobile app alongside any other order or customer notes for a stop:

For merchants who haven't configured the Local Delivery option for their Shopify store, we've assembled a step-by-step guide on how to set this feature up and start collecting Delivery Instructions from your customers automatically. Β

Take a look at EasyRoutes 101: Shopify Local Delivery for full details on configuring this feature in your Shopify settings, plus how to maximize your route planning efficiency with related EasyRoutes functionality and integrations.

‍

⏱️ New Automation Rule Type: Stop Time

Building on our recently launched order import automation rules feature, we've enabled a new rule type that will automatically parse the amount of time to spend at a stop from that stop's order attributes:

Customize this new automation rule from your EasyRoutes Settings > General tab, under the Advanced order automation rules section, or review this support articlefor further information on how rules work.

‍

πŸ“¦ Custom Order Items via CSV Import

When importing orders/stops from a CSV file using the EasyRoutes Address Book, you can now include custom items associated with these stops, including their quantities and weights:

This feature provides merchants with a convenient way to manage and route orders received outside of Shopify. Whether from a physical storefront, through phone or email, or via an eCommerce platform other than Shopify, EasyRoutes' imported stops deliver a seamless customer experience for orders of any type.

For additional details on how to format and map your spreadsheet columns before importing stops & items to EasyRoutes, see our CSV import support article.

‍

⚠️ Route Out of Date Warning

When editing existing routes - such as manually re-ordering stops, editing individual stops, or applying updated Route Options - you may notice a new warning indicating your currently active EasyRoutes session is out of date:

In cases where EasyRoutes is open in multiple browser windows or tabs, this additional safeguard will prompt route planners to refresh their route before making new changes, ensuring any updates applied via secondary EasyRoutes sessions are preserved and not overwritten.

‍

πŸ“± EasyRoutes Delivery Driver v1.0.39

The EasyRoutes Delivery Driver mobile app for both iOS and Android has been updated to version 1.0.39, including support for displaying Local Delivery Instructions alongside other order notes. Β All delivery notes and instructions have been consolidated into a single panel, located immediately below the map and navigation button for improved at-a-glance accessibility:

This mobile app update also includes performance enhancements for uploading Proof of Delivery items in locations with limited cellular connectivity, as well as various bug fixes and minor UI improvements. Β

Drivers will need to update to the latest version of the app (version 1.0.39) in order to take advantage of the latest features and improvements.
